Matt Patrick’s Passing – Dynamic Radio Personality with a Pro-Life Message!

Houston lost a powerful voice for the voiceless, a dynamic radio media personality, on July 9, 2017. Sunday, Matt Patrick (Michael “Matt” Patrick Ryan) went to his eternal reward following a 2 year battle with throat cancer.  Houston audiences enjoyed listening to him on News Radio 740 KTRH-AM and iHeart Media KPRC 950. Through the years he was known as a true Conservative and a staunch defender of the Constitution on the air broadcasting in Indiana, Ohio, New York, and Texas. He was a two-time Radio Broadcasters Hall of Fame inductee and won numerous awards for his shows. With materials ranging from sports, to national and global issues to personal life; his wit, his insights, and his honesty kept audiences coming back for more.

This genuinely gifted radio personality agreed to emcee the Houston Coalition for Life’s Annual Benefit Dinner year after year. He had a great love for his wife and his 3 kids. Each year he would pay tribute to his wife as, “Truly an Angel” in his life as he described his passion for the life issues and openly described his struggles as a recovering alcoholic.  He would use the public stage to give glory to God, to honor his beloved country and to give a voice for the unborn and honor those who work so hard to defend those lives!

What truly made this man, a joy to listen to, was the way he could share a story holding your attention as he poured out his heart in speaking of the grace of God and family support within his personal life!  He knew that the way to connect with people was to speak the facts on a personal level. That is how abortion will be ended, person-to-person, heart-to-heart! That is how this country will continue to grow stronger and be a truly great nation!

Today, a public memorial service is being offered at Second Baptist Church - West.  His body will be buried in Ohio, following his family’s private funeral service. Houston Coalition for Life offers sincere condolences and heart-felt prayers to his family.
