September 23, 2020
4600 Gulf Fwy, Houston TX

EVENT CANCELED:

WEATHER ALERT: Tropical Storm Beta is bringing a lot of rain to Houston and it DOES FLOOD near the Planned Parenthood entrances at the intersection of the I45 S Feeder Rd and Eleanor Tinsley (just before Gulfcrest) and also at the intersection of Elgin and Gulfcrest.

Houston Coalition for Life staff members realize that while some of our volunteers live close by and can have a more accurate gauge of when to go out to pray, many of our volunteers and staff drive across town to participate.  (For our out-of-town volunteers, TranStar is a great resource for Houston traveling!)

FORTUNATELY with all this rain there is very good chance that women will be missing abortion appointments and staff members won't be coming in. We know God can use these types of delays to change women's minds.  So we continue to pray for the protection of the unborn and their mothers even from a distance when, prudentially, we can't make it in person.

If pregnant women are looking for assistance, Houston Coalition for Life's 24 hr. helpline:

You are invited to come to the Candlelight Prayer Gathering

Wednesday, Sept 23, 2020

6:00am-6:15am (CANCELED).

outside of Planned Parenthood (4600 Gulf Fwy)

On Sept 23rd, the Houston Coalition for Life and the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston will be co-sponsoring the 40 Days for Life in prayer and fasting, peaceful vigil and community outreach for an end to abortion. We unite with the international 40 Days for Life's over 580 other locations around the world from Sept 23 - Nov 1, 2020.

In Houston, we use this Candlelight Prayer Gathering to step into this time of prayer for an end to abortion and we encourage people to stay and pray if they don't need to leave for work.

We stand like these candles that we bring, holding forth the light of hope we have found in Christ. The light does not come from us, but from Christ.

Please keep in mind we do need to have participants sign the Statement of Peace: https://bit.ly/3mh9NB8

and to wear a mask. Houston Coalition for Life will be providing candles.

Because of Covid-19, we will have a limited number of people and we will be streaming it, at least in part via FB either live or following the event (technical issues are being worked out) We invite you to join us with the prayer sheet: https://bit.ly/33OJppP

As of Aug 3rd, MASKS ARE REQUIRED by all participants that are 10 years of age or older.

Please see updated Houston Coalition for Life Statement: houstoncoalition.org/blog/masks-required-in-harris-county-new-requirement-issued-by-mayor-turner-aug-3rd

Keep in mind if/when the increased Harris County mask-requirement ends (we need to keep an eye on any changes to the GA 29 issued on July 2nd by Greg Abbott, that would still require people to wear a mask when they are within 6 feet of someone not of the same household even when outside!

ALL volunteers that are 10 years of age or older, even outside at this time, should have a mask on their face. There are legal exceptions for those with serious health conditions.
